I took Step 1 on 12/9/23 and got my results on 12/20/23!! I PASSED!!! A large chunk of the exam, as expected, was pathology, and the week before sitting for Step 1, I reviewed the question/answer sheets from the Rushing Review Course. On the exam, there were multiple questions I could hear Dr. Rushing’s explanations in my head as I was considering the answer choices. I can 100% say with certainty that the Rushing Review Course was the SINGLE BEST RESOURCE that led to my success on Step 1! Thank you, for being you and for being such an amazing educator! Having the accountability of the live Zoom sessions made showing up and completing the review course the ONLY review I was able to complete fully. I feel like Dr. Rushing is my cool aunt who happens to work in medicine and wants to help me succeed. She is so sweet and down to earth, which is important when you spend a week straight with someone teaching you a TON of information. I loved the open-ended question style because I would talk to myself out loud (on mute) and then listen to her explanation live – if anyone had any questions she was there to immediately answer them or provide more in-depth explanations. She is an excellent teacher and clearly cares about her students. She even stayed after class to answer any personal questions we had about school or board preparation. Thank you for all of your hard work preparing this course Dr. Rushing – you’re the best! And if anyone is considering this review, you really can’t beat it for the time/price/content.

It is a very daunting task to cover all the high-yield Pathology concepts within five days. However, Dr. Rushing’s Pathology Board Review accomplishes just that. Highly recommend this course! As someone who was successful and privileged to have Dr. Rushing during the Basic Sciences, I immediately signed up when I heard she established this program. She is an amazing educator, who knows the ins and outs of USMLE and cares deeply about her student’s success. She gives of her time unselfishly and provides guidance and support to ensure they are adequately prepared before sitting for such a high stakes exam as the USMLE. The course can be a little intense, as it covers the highest yield Pathology concepts for every organ system in five days. However, I cannot think of a better way to accomplish this other than what she has put together. The course accomplishes its goal by identifying a student’s strengths, but more importantly the areas which need more work. There is no fluff here, straight up high-yield information. Five stars all the way. Thank you, Dr. Rushing, for everything!

I just took the review course in July and it was very helpful. Dr. Rushing is an amazing teacher. She was able to cover all the high-yield topics of pathology during the 5 days course without overwhelming lectures. Her question and answer teaching style is very effective, it facilitates active recall. She highlighted the most important key points that helps a lot when answering board questions. She also answered the students’ questions and gave us structured study notes. She also took time after the course to give individual guidance for students to help them prepare for step 1. She really cares and wants her students to be successful at the exam. She is exceptional and her course is very dense but effective and essential for step 1! I highly recommend this course to any student preparing for step 1!

I needed something rapid and she touches on all the subjects that you need to go over in path that you probably didn’t realize you forgot about. My biggest STEP 1 study problem was truly making sure I covered all the missing pieces and I really enjoyed Dr. Rushing’s style of review making sure to cover them all by chapters. It was honestly enjoyable too and it did not feel as long as the hours were. You learn so much and Dr. Rushing is just so knowledgeable and can not only give you a rapid path review, but she also knows the style of testing/how to study for STEP and that’s the key. I take STEP 1 soon and I really think this review is going to help me so much!

My Step 1 is coming up at the end of the month and I was not feeling confident at all, especially with pathology since it is such a big topic and the majority of Step. I was fortunate enough to have Dr. Rushing as my path professor several semesters ago and I absolutely loved the sections she taught, because she made them exciting and easy to understand.

I had been struggling a lot during my dedicated time because I genuinely had forgotten a lot of the information and was extremely overwhelmed with all the resources recommended. I had been watching Pathoma, B&B, Sketchy videos, etc., and was going a little crazy so I decided to sign up for this review.

Dr. Rushing organized the course in a way that was easy to follow and engaging. My favorite part was the fact that I had to recall information on the spot. It was an intense, rapid-fire type of review but she made sure to explain things and emphasize the high-yield topics that are often tested, and also answered any questions or doubts students had. Long story short, if you are looking for a solid review of pathology before Step or any other exam this is one of the best resources I can recommend.

Dr. Rushings course was amazing! She reviews all of the high yield concepts without overwhelming notes or thousands of slides. The question and answer format is perfect for active recall. After taking her course I took a practice NBME and there was so many high yield points she discussed in her review course that were on the exam! I would take this class again!
